To provide a broad product range that will cater to our customers, whilst remaining true to the range of wines that Gerald developed, we are re-introducing a couple of varieties to complement the range. These will include:
Chardonnay – This is our Flagship variety and will continue in the style that Gerald made famous. Gerald is very much still involved with the style and has been enjoying dropping by the winery.
Riesling – Ours, and Gerald’s, love of Riesling ensures it has a great future, with both the dry and off-dry (Scandalous) styles.
Pinot Gris – This new wine was made from the 2026 vintage and will be released as easy drinking, fruit driven style in the coming months. Some of you may remember that Gerald made one back in 2008.
Rosé – Our merlot-based Rosé (with some barrel fermentation) continues in Gerald’s tradition.
Pinot Noir – One of the region’s hero varieties, we’ll continue to showcase this cool climate style.
Cabernet Merlot Blends – The age worthy Cabernet Merlot and Jezza are part of Patina’s DNA and we’re excited to make these wines well into the future. The older vintages are looking great, and we plan to release more Museum wines in the near future.
Shiraz – This will be a new and distinctly Orange wine in the cool climate style; medium weight with lovely spice. The OG Patina Shiraz was from a Mudgee vineyard, back into the early 2000s. We’re taking this history and giving the wine its new Orange roots.
In addition, we will continue with the unique Sticky Tea Riesling and the we have a great asset in the barrel of Liqueur Tawny that we continue to draw down on as it ages beautifully.
Vintage 2026 will include the release of the new Pinot Gris and Shiraz.
A Cabernet blend was not made in ’26 due to frost damage to the vines back in late spring, but we intend to make this in the ’27 Vintage.
