Product Description
Colour: Red to brick red.
Aroma: Black currant, black berry, mint, complemented with savoury hints of green olives and dusty aromas integrating with cedary oak and inviting maturation characters.
Palate: A welcoming, ripe fruit front palate with good acid balance is restrained yet mouth-filling. This leads to a fine tannin mid palate evolving to a very long back palate with hints of liquorice.
Winemaking: After crushing a potion of the must was drained off for a barrel fermented Rosé and the balance of the must was fermented in stainless-steel vats. It was then basket pressed off skins and settled for a couple of days before transferring to seasoned French oak barrels where it was aged for 28 months. 14.2% Alc/Vol.
Cellaring: This late release wine is drinking well now and will continue to develop complementary aged characters for at least another 5 years. It is an excellent complement to lamb roast.
