Product Description
Colour: Red with hints of purple.
Aroma: Dusty notes followed by cherry, blackberry, black currant and chocolate integrate with well developed toasty oak.
Palate: The front palate is a little timid leading to an intense mid palate and a very long finish of good tactile tannins. This expressive aged Cabernet, displays the fruit, intense palate and mouth filling tannin that makes this variety so desirable.
Cellaring: Although drinking well now expect this wine to evolve favourably well beyond 2030.
93 Points “Lifted aromatics of raspberry, sour cherry and a touch of eucalypt. A mid-weighted wine, the palate has the aforementioned sour cherry element and a tart blackberry crunchiness to it that gives the wine a youthful vividness and liveliness. There’s ample structure and acidity framing up this elegant, cooler-climate cabernet that is a very good example of its genre. An enjoyable wine that has drinkability now and 7 to 10 years into the future.” The Real Review, Aaron Brasher, Feb 2021
Picked with ripe black currant and blackberry characters. Fermented in 300L open top barrels, pressed off skins 10 days after end of ferment and aged for 12 months in new barrique barrels and another 7 months in older oak barrels. Sixty percent French, twenty percent American and twenty percent Hungarian oak barrels.
